Mac OS X Drivers
FirmTek Driver versions 6.x.x and 5.4.x are compatible with Mac OS X 10.9 "Mavericks", 10.8.x "Mountain Lion", 10.7.x "Lion" and Mac OS X 10.6.x "Snow Leopard". These versions are also backward compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.x with the exception of the SeriTek/Q6G and SeriTek/6G2+2 drivers.

PowerPC based Macintosh computers - are not compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 or later.
As a result, no driver updates are required for PowerPC based computers.

FirmTek Thunderbolt PCIe Expansion Chassis Compatibility
The latest FirmTek drivers for the SeriTek/Q6G and SeriTek/e6G support use with a Thunderbolt PCIe Expansion Chassis, like the FirmTek ThunderTek/PX. This configuration offers external FirmTek eSATA ports via Thunderbolt for the 2013 Mac Pro, 2011 or later MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini and soon Windows notebooks. The FirmTek driver supports direct connect eSATA enclosures like the miniSwap/ES and port multiplication (PM) enclosures like the SeriTek/5PM. The high performance SeriTek/Q6G is Mac OS X Bootable, whether installed inside the Apple Mac Pro or inside a Thunderbolt PCIe expansion chassis.
When to Upgrade
The firmware and driver updates below are for Mac OS X 10.5.x "Leopard" and Mac OS X 10.4.x "Tiger" configurations. If your FirmTek controller is working well with your current version of Mac OS we highly recommend not upgrading. This falls under the heading, "If it's not broken don't fix it". While FirmTek tries to make every new driver release better than the last, there is always a chance that a new firmware/driver upgrade may actually cause an issue with some configurations.

FirmTek PCI driver version 5.1.3 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5 and will work with PowerMac G4 and legacy PCI G5 configurations. Users with multiple FirmTek cards mounted in a single computer must install the same firmware version on all cards to avoid conflicts. When modifying firmware it is best to only have a single FirmTek card installed in the computer.
